2010 Georgina, Scholarship Winners

AWC Honors Sharon Rockwood for Outstanding Service;
Four Students Receive Communication Scholarships

The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) Seattle Professional Chapter honored member Sharon Rockwood with its annual prestigious Georgina MacDougall Davis Founders Award, named after a student at the University of Washington who helped found the nationwide organization in 1909.

The award is given to a member who has consistently exhibited the highest ethics, professional excellence and personal commitment in everything they do. Rockwood, a past president of AWC Seattle and owner of the event-planning company Preferred Planners, was selected to receive the award because of her years of support, dedication and ongoing service in the name of AWC.

The surprise award was presented to Rockwood by AWC Seattle member Susanna Tull.  Fellow AWC members and Rockwood’s family and friends attended the event on June 16 at the Seattle Yacht Club.
