We heard you loud and clear at our September Strategic Planning Forum. Forum participants stated they wanted more mentorship opportunities to learn both from seasoned professionals and from their peers at their particular levels.
In response, AWC Seattle is pleased to announce a new benefit for our members: Affinity Groups. This peer-mentoring program will provide members with the opportunity to engage in in-depth conversations with like-minded professionals to further their knowledge and careers while building new or stronger relationships.
Two affinity groups will launch the program: “Mid-Career Professionals” and “Solo Pros.”
“Mid-Career Professionals” will begin meeting in February. This group is intended for communications professionals with 15-20 years experience who are looking at their next two decades and considering career paths/options.
“Solo Pros” will begin meeting in May. This group is intended for budding entrepreneurs and those who are or are considering freelancing, consulting, or starting their own business.
Meetings will be monthly, dates and times to be considered by the individual groups.
We encourage you to attend our April luncheon “Becoming a Solo Pro: Entrepreneurship and Launching Your Own Business” as a kick-off to the affinity group.
This is an additional FREE benefit of membership. Non-members may attend one meeting for a low $10 fee to decide if they would like to join and continue attending.
If you are interested in joining an affinity group, please contact Dana Van Nest, VP Professional Development, at programs@seattleawc.org or 206-795-8089.
