Each year, the Seattle Professional Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications awards scholarships to Washington state college students majoring in a communications discipline.
Eligible students must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a Washington state resident
- Be a registered student at a four-year college in Washington state for Fall 2012
- Be a junior, senior or graduate student as of Fall 2012
- Be accepted in, or applying to, a school at a four-year university or college to major in at least one of the following communications disciplines:
- Advertising
- Film
- Graphic design
- Journalism (print and broadcast)
- Marketing
- Multimedia design
- Photography
- Public relations
- Technical communication
- Television and radio production
Scholarship selections are based on:
- Demonstrated excellence in communications
- Positive contributions toward communications on campus, in the community
- Scholastic achievement
- Financial need
- Work Samples
**Two work samples: If applicant is a student studying journalism, advertising, public relations, broadcasting or technical writing, please submit two (2) writing samples. If applicant is a student in the disciplines of graphic or multimedia design, please submit one (1) sample of your work in that discipline and one (1) writing sample.
