Red Slice founder addresses branding pitfalls at October meeting

At AWC Seattle’s Oct. 19 luncheon, Maria Ross, founder and chief strategist of Red Slice LLC, presented “The 7 Deadly Sins of Branding: How to Avoid Eternal Stagnation.” Her presentation touched on branding pitfalls, such as trying to be all things to all people and not accurately reflecting what your brand claims to be.

The event, held at Rock Salt restaurant on Lake Union, gave attendees the opportunity to learn directly from a branding veteran. Maria emphasized the importance of ensuring companies have a strong brand strategy before executing on messaging or materials. Her key tips included: developing an audience profile to gain a true understanding of targets and clearly communicating to those audiences the value or benefit they are receiving.

Author of the book, Branding Basics for Small Businesses, Maria signed copies for event guests eager to read its case studies and gain a foolproof, 10-step process to crafting the perfect brand.
