As an all-volunteer organization, AWC depends on our members’ time, talent and dedication to create our networking and fundraising events, produce engaging professional development opportunities, and maintain and grow our vibrant membership.

The Website Manager makes regular (at least monthly) updates to the chapter website under general direction of the Board. Some WordPress experience is desired; additional training is available. Most content is provided.
The Newsletter Editor formats, submits for review and sends the chapter e-newsletter under general direction of the President. Previous experience with MailChimp is desired. We currently send a full monthly newsletter and a shorter version mid-month.
Professional Associations Consultant
This research position advises the Board. Explore what similar communications organizations are doing well with an eye toward how we might evolve to better serve current and future members.
Holiday Auction Committee
One of our chapter’s most-anticipated annual events, the Holiday Auction each December is a festive evening featuring an auction to raise funds for college scholarships. Committee members are needed to solicit and procure auction items in advance, then organize and display them attractively at the event. This is a great opportunity for members who want to enhance their event planning portfolios.
Spring Event Committee
Following on the great success of our 2016 “Media in Transition” event at Town Hall, the chapter plans to produce an annual spring event focused on a timely communications topic of public interest. As a committee member you’ll help plan, organize and promote this event. This is a great opportunity for members who want to enhance their event planning portfolios.
